I
also worked as a class music teacher and became
very interested in putting on a very wide variety
of performances including; summer concerts, adaptations
of Shakespeare plays and Christmas Pantos, which
I wrote produced, directed and composed original
songs and music for.
I
now go in to schools to put on productions and am
currently working on a show based on The Blues
Brothers
The
last few years have seen me dedicate more time to
my work with Martin Vishnick. We have released four
C.d.'s to critical acclaim.
Viva
(record
of the week on Lyric FM in Ireland) Classic
guitars by Starlight Flamenco
and
Live
on level 5 All
of which highlight our special blend of highly entertaining
classical and latin guitar music and feature several
of my compositions
A
superb duo .... Classic CD magazine
I
love performing live and feel strongly that its
important to break down the barriers between performer
and audience..... I hate precious classical concerts
where people sit uncomfortably and stiffly, coughing
between movements.
Martin
and I have also produced the show
Caramba
for
the Edinburgh festival.
A spectacular blend of Latin music and dance. Powerful,
unforgettable, fiery and exotic gypsy rhythms with
elements of flamenco, beautiful haunting movement
and melodies - and were currently organising
a tour of theatres in the autumn.
I
have been very fortunate to work with many great
entertainers and have played guitar for Des OConnor,
supported The Drifters, Chas and Dave, The Supremes
and worked with Jimmy Cricket, Bobby Knut, Jim Bowen,
Cannon and Ball, I still write whenever possible
(usually when commissioned) and have a large catalogue
of compositions and arrangements including songs
for stage productions and the theme to a BBC radio
programme. |
